Letter From the President

Hello friends Since 2000, Mission Aid Project has given aid through its ongoing programs to support the children's health, housing and education agendas. Our doors are continually open to help Africa's children who are suffering from the effect of HIV/AIDS,wars and extreme poverty.

When MAP opened our office in lafayette LA recently, it was a new open door to save another life, an opportunity to help those who are in need. I was happy on opening the doors of MAP and for sure our mission to bring hope and security for children still stands. As you may know millions of children on the continent of Africa become orphaned, homeless and abandoned too soon due to life threatening hindrances with every new minute, hour and day parents leave behind hopeless children terrified by what they must face. Mission Aid Project was established to assist vulnerable children in the developing world of Africa.

Through our compassionate programs we bring hope of a new and productive life for the future to every child. However it is only through the support of our precious partners that we are able to go forward and continue this work. If you desire to join us in this endeavor. Let your voice be heard, your communication is very important to us. Feel free to contact our office with any question or to request more information about helping Africa's children. Even pass on an idea. We are extremely grateful for angels like you who help improve the precious lives of millions of children throughout the continent of Africa.

Thank you for your support

Until all are saved

The Children Born with HIV/AIDS in Africa

The majority of children born with HIV/AIDS can not access treatment which results in their eary death. Recent statistics shows that 66% of aids orphans have a lifespane of three years and 75% have five years if they are not treated. While some have a chance of living util 10 or 13 years, it is only a chance

When parents are affected with AIDS , it almost becomes the end of life and when they start to develop full-effect of AIDS, all hope is gone, they can not work and need to be looked after and it becomes the children's responsibility. Children not only have the problem of seeing their parents deteriorate but also are no longer provided for and have to try to help care for their parents while also they are infected with HIV/AIDS

UGANDA should address the plight of orphans and vulnerable children if the country is to meet its development goals, the gender, labour and social development minister, Prof. Gabriel Opio, has said. In a speech read by the state minister for children and youth affairs, Jessica Alupo, at the opening of a meeting on children on Tuesday, Opio said Uganda was burdened with orphans due to HIV/AIDS, war and poverty. The meeting at Kampala Serena Hotel attracted legislators on the Parliamentary Forum on Children. “Despite several calls to improve funding, my ministry remains one of the most under-funded, although the national development plan prioritises social protection of the most vulnerable members of society,” Opio said. Quoting results of the national demographic and health survey of 2006, Opio said the proportion of orphaned children had increased, from 12% in 1999 to 15% by 2006. Opio said child-headed families were previously unheard of in Uganda. Dr. Dirk Buyse, the Unicef chief of the children and AIDS section in Kampala, asked MPs to support the call for more funding to the ministry

Who founded Mission Aid Project?

Daniel Musinguzi a native of the republic of Uganda founded the organization

Why Mission Aid Project was Established?

For children to grow as responsible citizen, they have to depend largely on their parents and guardians for basic principles of life, education, food, medical, shelter and all other social needs. But unfortunately this has not been the case to Uganda and Africa at Large the ideal of mission Aid Project was first implemented in the republic of Uganda and during the beginning phase of this organization Uganda's population estimated at 24.7 million people. Young people below the age of 30 years constitute 78% of the total population (Uganda Youth policy) children of the alone 1-17 years constitute 51% of the total population (2002) population census) According to the above statistics it is a clean sight that the biggest percentage is the children and they are the most venerable society. Where there's violence, war, Aids, illiteracy lack of professional skills and inadequacy of social services. On this basic Mission Aid Project was formed to address these problems among the children of Uganda and Africa at large.
